Shelly A. Planellas LMT, LMSW 

Shelly Planellas graduated from Blue Cliff Collage, Massage Therapy in 1999. She has been practicing as a licensed massage therapist for over 17 years. Throughout her years, Shelly has studied multiple massage modalities and disciplines. In the summer of 2013 she completed her certification in Orthopedic Medical Massage from the Advance Massage Training Clinic.  In her practice, Shelly uses an eclectic blend of massage therapy techniques to address soft tissue dysfunction and muscular pain. In the words of Shelly, "each client is truly unique, and each massage session should be creatively individualized for the client's specific needs". The heart beat of her massage practice is treating the human person as a whole: mind, body and soul.  Although she has developed a successful massage therapy practice, Healing Hand Creations LLC, she elected to go back to school to pursue a degree in psychology. Shelly received her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from the University of New Orleans in 2012. Her journey didn't stop there. She continued on to earn a Masters in Social Work degree from Southern University at New Orleans in 2015 with a concentration in maccro intervention methods focusing on Administration, Planning and Organizing (APO). Her vision is for people from all social-economic backgrounds to have access to  holistic mental health care; Healing through the arts. Including, but not limited to, massage therapy, art therapy, music therapy, dance/movement therapy, and drama therapy. Shelly is ready to pioneer the next movement in alternative health care; a mental health approach  that challenges the constructs traditional  mental health care  methods. An approach that treats the sum totality of a person.
